Upgrade Innolab, Singapore-based Reactor School launches InnoVersity Business Leaders Program for Davao Region students

Upgrade Innolab Inc. partnered with Singapore-based youth-focused startup accelerator Reactor School, Malaysia-based accelerator E3 Entrepreneurs Hub, and Davao startup-enablers’ consortium IDEAS Davao to launch InnoVersity Business Leaders Program (IBLP) that aims to bring out future business leaders and startup founders from students in Davao Region.

The IBLP is a 3-month long Ideation-to-Validation support for university and college students in the Davao Region who are passionate about creating, testing, and validating their disruptive startup ideas. 

It is designed to spur the interest of university and college students on entrepreneurship and technopreneurship to contribute to social impact, mainstream a culture of innovation in addressing social problems, and promote technopreneurship as an alternative career pathway for the youth.

In this program, students will be capacitated with essential entrepreneurial skills such as business leadership, design thinking, business model development, market validation, product development, and testing and pitching to build their own startups and become future business leaders.

The program runs from March to May 2023.

Qualifications 

The program is open to students from universities and colleges in Davao Region who are passionate about creating social impact through entrepreneurship, technopreneurship, and innovation.

Mechanics

  • Students must form a team of five members to comprise the founders of their startup or enterprise. They must come up with a name for their company or startup.
  • Students must have an idea for a startup that they wanted to validate or improve during the course of the program. The startup idea may be geared towards but not limited to the following industries or sectors: Education, Sustainability, Agriculture, Smart Industry.
  • Individual students may also apply to the program. 
  • Team members may come from different courses or fields of specialization as they find necessary in the startup or enterprise that they are trying to build.

  • Fifty teams will be able to participate in the online bootcamp but only 10 teams will be chosen to undergo a deep mentoring up to the launching of their startups.
  • Startup teams may also have a chance to receive funding from interested investors.
