Upgrade Innolab Incorporated participated in the inaugural Hospitality and Tourism Experience (HTX) Conference held on November 15 at the Acacia Hotel in Davao City. The event was organized by the Davao Tourism Association (DATA) with support from the Department of Tourism and the Davao City Local Government Unit’s City Tourism Operations Office. It brought together industry leaders and enthusiastic students to explore the latest trends and innovations in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
Our President, Richard R. Day, was part of a panel discussion during the HTX Student Conference, where he shared valuable insights on the theme “The Future is Now: Defining New Paths in Hospitality and Entrepreneurial Success.” Mr. Day emphasized our commitment to nurturing the next generation of professionals and fostering innovation in the hotel and tourism industry. He engaged with eager students, encouraging them to think creatively about their roles in shaping the future of tourism and hospitality.
The event also featured esteemed keynote speaker Art Boncato, General Manager of Megaworld Hotels and Resorts. Boncato, who has extensive experience including his previous role as the Department of Tourism Undersecretary, provided attendees with vital insights into the evolving landscape of the industry. His inspiring words resonated with both established professionals and emerging talents, highlighting the importance of adapting to industry changes.
During the HTX Industry Conference, attendees explored the theme “Redefining the Future through Innovation, Sustainability, and Excellence.” Discussions focused on the critical need to address new challenges and prioritize sustainability in operations, aligning perfectly with Upgrade Innolab’s values and goals.
A significant feature of the conference was the business-to-business session, where hotel and resort owners networked with travel agencies and operators. This presented an excellent opportunity to strengthen collaborations within the industry, echoing our belief in innovative partnerships that drive growth and sustainability in Davao’s tourism sector.
Reflecting on the successful event, Nicole Hao Bian Ledesma, president of DATA, stated, “We witnessed incredible interactions among industry leaders and aspiring professionals, all committed to shaping the future of tourism and hospitality in Davao.”With over 300 members, DATA’s dedication to nurturing Southern Mindanao’s tourism sector was evident throughout the day. The HTX Conference has laid a solid foundation for what we hope will become an annual event filled with insights, networking, and collaborative efforts.
At Upgrade Innolab, we look forward to more opportunities like this that showcase our commitment to innovation and excellence in the tourism and hospitality industry in Davao
